Definition
CatalogIQ Catalog Scoring is a 0–100 catalog quality score that grades a product catalog across 13 dimensions in two sub-indices — Catalog Quality & Discoverability (A) and AI Commerce Readiness (B) — measured against published standards. It turns catalog quality into a single, trackable number.
What it measures
- Sub-index A covers discoverability dimensions: attribute completeness, value consistency, classification, findability, specifications, documentation, descriptions, and imagery.
- Sub-index B covers AI readiness: structured data, agent-required attributes, feed-protocol compliance, and natural-language parseability.
- It reads the catalog the way AI agents, marketplaces, and search engines do, then produces a ranked gap list by impact.
- Fixes are confirmed by re-scoring, and a peer benchmark places the score against a category set graded identically.
How it relates to catalog intelligence
Scoring is the "measure" step of catalog intelligence — establishing a baseline so quality can be prioritized and improved. See the concept explainer on catalog quality scoring for the vendor-neutral view.
