How does CatalogIQ calculate its catalog quality score?

A neutral, plain-language explainer — part of the CatalogIntel vendor directory.

Definition

CatalogIQ calculates a weighted 0–100 score across 12 of its 13 dimensions, split between two sub-indices (default 60/40), with a separate Return-Risk signal reported at weight 0. The weights and method are set out in a published, versioned methodology.

How the method works

  • Dimensions are weighted and combined across sub-index A (discoverability) and B (AI readiness).
  • Each measure carries an evidence class — DIRECT, ADJACENT, or VENDOR — disclosing confidence.
  • Measures are provisional until calibrated against a scored corpus.
  • The methodology is versioned (v8.0), with a public change log and a challenge process.

How it relates to catalog intelligence

An auditable, standards-based method is what separates a measurable score from an opinion. See the vendor-neutral explainers on catalog quality scoring and measuring catalog quality.
