Definition
Syndigo includes PIM and master data management capabilities, but it is broader than a standalone PIM — a combined content, master data, syndication, and analytics platform built around its Content Experience Hub. It does the work a PIM does, and then extends into content pools, GDSN syndication, digital assets, and analytics.
PIM plus more
- PIM / PXM: centralizes and structures product information, improves data quality and consistency, and feeds accurate content to channels.
- Master data management: manages a governed master record across categories; its MDM depth grew through acquisition (commonly cited as Riversand) — confirm current scope with Syndigo.
- Content & syndication: the Content Experience Hub collects, audits, and distributes GDSN data, rich media, and nutritional attributes to a broad recipient network.
- Analytics: reporting on content and performance across channels.
How it relates to catalog intelligence
Whether you call it a PIM, PXM, or MDM platform, Syndigo is where product data is managed and from which it is distributed. Catalog intelligence sits alongside it, measuring and improving the quality and AI-readiness of that data rather than storing it. See PIM vs PXM.
